To ancient Greeks rosemary was believed to be a gift from Aphrodite and a symbol of beauty.
Rosemary has a delightful scent and its Latin name means “dew of the sea”.
Properties-Uses: As a beverage it improves memory and boosts the immune system. It alleviates the symptoms of bronchitis and asthma. It eases digestion and regulates menstruation. It also improves vision. In cooking, it lends a refined flavour to meat, cured meats, grilled fish, baked potatoes, fries, as well as spoon sweets (sweet preserves), and sauces. It should be avoided during pregnancy.
Preparation: Add a teaspoon of rosemary to 250 ml water. When it comes to the boil remove from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Strain and drink hot or cold.
